5 Santa Rosa Teens Arrested For Spray-Paint Vandalism

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) — Five juveniles were arrested on suspicion of spray-painting buildings in Santa Rosa on Saturday night, a Sonoma County sheriff’s sergeant said.

A passerby reported a group of people were tagging buildings in the Coffey Lane and Bluebell Drive area of northwest Santa Rosa late Saturday night, Sgt. Dave Pedersen said.

Members of the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Team and Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies responded around 10 p.m. and detained five boys ages 17 and 16, Pedersen said.

The teens were booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of vandalism over $400, conspiracy and possession of spray paint with the intent to commit vandalism, Pedersen said.

The teens had cans of spray paint and permanent markers and paint on their hands and clothing, Pedersen said.

There were at least 24 separate acts of vandalism that involved the graffiti tags of “Zerk” and “Cron”, Pedersen said. The monetary damage was not yet known, he said.
