Man Critically Injured In San Leandro Shooting

SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) -- A shooting in San Leandro Sunday night left one man with critical injuries, a police lieutenant said.

Police responded around 8 p.m. to reports of a shooting at a duplex in the 1700 block of Orchard Avenue, Lt. Jeff Tudor said.

Officers located a man in the back of the home suffering from multiple gunshot injuries, including bullet wounds to the head, Tudor said.

The victim, a 48-year-old San Leandro resident, was rushed to an area hospital with critical injuries.

Police were unable to locate the suspect, identified only as an armed male, and had not determined a motive for the shooting, the lieutenant said.

Anyone with further information about the shooting or the suspect's whereabouts was asked to call San Leandro police at (510) 577-3201
