San Jose Bomb Squad Investigates Suspicious Suitcase

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A suspicious suitcase found near a bus bench near Snell Avenue and Capitol Expressway in San Jose Friday afternoon was not a bomb, according to police.

The suitcase was reported around 2:30 p.m. and police called in the bomb unit as a precaution, according to Sgt. Jason Dwyer.

Traffic was blocked in both directions on Snell Avenue while authorities investigated the suitcase. Residents in the area were also asked to shelter in place.
