Teen Girl Hurt In San Lorenzo Hit-And-Run Crash
SAN LORENZO (CBS SF) -- A 16-year-old girl was struck and injured by a hit and run driver in San Lorenzo on Saturday as she walked toward her school, the California Highway Patrol said Sunday.
The girl was walking on Grant Avenue just after 8 a.m. when she entered the crosswalk at Via Seco, according to the CHP.
As she was walking across Grant, a driver in a silver vehicle turned from Via Seco on to Grant and struck the girl.
The driver then fled east on Grant Avenue, the CHP said.
The girl was taken to Kaiser hospital in Oakland for treatment of an injured left leg and left ankle.
The driver was described as an Asian female in her 30s, with black shoulder length black hair. She was driving a silver four-foor sedan or SUV, possibly a Honda.
The vehicle may have damage to its front left bumper.
