Petaluma DUI Offender Arrested For Drunk Driving With Child Passenger
PETALUMA (CBS SF) - A man with a history of drunken driving was arrested in Petaluma on Sunday after allegedly driving drunk with a 6-year-old passenger, police said.
Officers responded to a report of a possible drunken driver with a small child in the car near East Washington and Grey streets around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, according to police.
Officers located the vehicle as it was pulling into a parking lot and made contact with the driver, identified as 44-year-old Pedro Lopez-Perez of Petaluma, police said.
Police said Lopez-Perez was on probation and had a suspended driver's license from a past DUI conviction.
Officers conducted a series of field sobriety tests and arrested Lopez-Perez on suspicion of DUI, child endangerment, probation violations and driving with a suspended license. A parent was called to pick up the 6-year-old, police said.
Lopez-Perez was taken to county jail and was being held on $25,000 bail.
