Taxi Driver Robbed In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A taxi driver was robbed after dropping off a customer in San Francisco's Lower Nob Hill neighborhood on Monday night, police said Tuesday.

The robbery was reported at 8:03 p.m. in the 800 block of Post Street.

The driver, a 43-year-old man, had just been paid by a rider who exited the cab. The driver was counting the money with his window rolled down when a man ran up, grabbed the cash and fled, according to police.

The suspect, believed to be in his 20s, was last seen running south on Hyde Street and had not been found as of Tuesday morning, police said.

The driver was not injured in the robbery.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
