Bochy Shakes Up Giants Lineup; Beltran Out For Cards

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (CBS SF) -- San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy is hoping change will be a good thing as his team seeks to even up things with the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 4 of the NLCS on Thursday evening.

In addition to returning Tim Lincecum to a starting pitcher role, the other shakeup comes with the Giants batting Hector Sanchez fifth in the lineup ahead of Hunter Pence.

Meantime, Carlos Beltran had hoped to be back in the Cardinals' lineup after leaving Wednesday night's game with a strained left knee, but manager Mike Matheny told reporters late Thursday afternoon that the veteran right fielder was "too sore" to start in Game 4.

It was possible, despite the knee injury, that Beltran might be available off the bench.
