Giants Victory Parade Wednesday At 11AM

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco will hold a ticker tape parade and civic celebration in honor of the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, Mayor Ed Lee announced Sunday night.

The parade in honor of the Giants' World Series victory against the Detroit Tigers will start at 11 a.m. at the foot of Market Street and continue to Civic Center Plaza, Lee said.

KPIX-TV CBS 5 will broadcast the parade live and cbsSF.com will live stream the event.

The Giants swept the Tigers, winning the series in Game 4 in Detroit with a 4-3 victory. It was the team's second World Series win in three years.

The streets of San Francisco were filled with celebrating fans Sunday night following the win and the sound of car horns and fireworks were being heard all over the city.

"The rain in Detroit couldn't dampen the drive, talent and determination of the San Francisco Giants team tonight," Lee said. "Once again, the Giants brought our City together as we all cheered on our hometown heroes to another remarkable World Series victory."
