Daily Madden: Raiders-Saints Game Should Be A Shootout

OAKLAND (KCBS) - The Raiders-Saints match-up at the Coliseum Sunday features two weak defenses.

"New Orleans isn't the old New Orleans," John Madden told the KCBS morning crew. "They still have (quarterback) Drew Brees and they still have a potent offense. It's one of those things that you can match a little because their defense, to be honest, isn't very good. Now the Raiders' isn't either. So you can never predict what kind of game this is going to be. But with (Raiders quarterback) Carson Palmer on one side and Drew Brees on the other side... I could see a shootout coming."

At 3-6 the Raiders aren't a playoff contender, but Madden said it's important they bounce back from the way they were "manhandled" in their last two games.

"They're not going to be a great team," John said. "But they just have to snap out of it and get a better effort... They just have to get back and get some stoutness to them." (7:10)
