51-Year-Old Man Killed At Santa Cruz Campsite

SANTA CRUZ (CBS SF) -- Police in Santa Cruz are investigating a homicide that took place in the city on Saturday night.

Officers responded to a report of a possible homicide at a campsite south of Depot Park at about 10:55 p.m., according to Santa Cruz police.

Arriving officers found a 51-year-old man at the camp who was pronounced dead, police said.

A preliminary investigation led police to arrest a 26-year-old man in connection with the death.

The name of the suspect was not released, and the name of the victim was being withheld pending notification of his relatives.
