Oakland Gun Violence Kills 1, Injures 1

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Police were investigating an East Oakland shooting that sent one man to the hospital Saturday night.

Officers responded around 7:15 p.m. Saturday to reports of a shooting in the 8200 block of Dowling Street, Officer J. Moore said.

Police located the victim, a male adult, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

The suspect was described only as an armed person. No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

Earlier, a man was shot and killed near the Oakland-Emeryville border on Saturday afternoon.

Officers were called just before 3 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 5900 block of San Pablo Avenue in Oakland, Officer J. Moore said.

Police located a man at the scene suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Moore said the suspect, described only as an armed man, was not in custody as of Sunday morning.
