Woman Hit By Muni Bus In San Francisco's Mission District

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A woman suffered minor injuries when she was hit by a San Francisco Municipal Railway bus in San Francisco's Mission District Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The outbound 49-Van Ness/Mission bus struck the pedestrian around 9:20 a.m. while heading south on Mission Street near 14th Street, Muni spokesman Paul Rose said.

The woman, who is in her 50s, was taken to the University of California at San Francisco Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, San Francisco police spokesman Officer Carlos Manfredi said.

Passengers on the bus disembarked and were picked up by another bus. The driver was placed on non-driving status, Rose said.

The accident remains under investigation.
