Man Arrested After Stolen Motorcycle Found In Milpitas Hotel Room

MILPITAS (CBS SF) -- A man was arrested Thursday in Milpitas after police found a stolen motorcycle inside his hotel room and a stolen SUV in a parking lot outside, Milpitas police said.

Brian Frank Borghette, 28, was arrested at the Heritage Inn hotel at 378 W. Calaveras Blvd. on suspicion of auto theft, providing false information to an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, a probation violation and other charges, police said.

Milpitas police spotted Borghette, a transient, coming out of the hotel at about 7:15 a.m. and noticed he appeared to be under the influence of drugs, police said.

When asked to identify himself, Borghette allegedly provided a false name to officers, who then used a fingerprint machine to find out his true identity based on his prints, police said.

Once they had identified Borghette, they learned that he was on probation and had several outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Detectives at the scene noticed a motorcycle parked inside his hotel room that had been reported stolen in San Jose.

In the parking lot, they also recovered a 2003 Ford Explorer SUV allegedly associated with the suspect that had been reported stolen in San Mateo, police said.
