Petaluma Police Seek Man Seen Firing Gunshots From Car

PETALUMA (CBS SF) -- Police in Petaluma are looking for a person who was seen firing shots from a car early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Washington and Kentucky streets at about 12:50 a.m., police said.

When police arrived, they found three 40-caliber shell casings on the street, according to police.

A witness told officers that a passenger in a black Lexus sedan with 24-inch, chrome-rimmed tires fired three shots in the air, according to police.

The car fled from Washington Street and was last seen entering northbound U.S. Highway 101, police said.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the car, or with additional information about the shooting, is asked to call Officer Ryan McGreevy at (707) 778-4372.
