Man Caught Trying Arrange Sex With 13-Year-Old Girl In South Bay Sting Operation

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- A 24-year-old Santa Rosa man trying to meet up with teen girls through an Internet bulletin board was nabbed by Monterey County sheriff's deputies in a sting operation in Salinas early Thursday morning.

The suspect, identified as Bogdan Trakov, had posted online that he was looking for "high school teen girls."

Sheriff's deputies posed as a 13-year-old girl from Salinas and responded to his post.

Trakov allegedly planned to drive from Santa Rosa to Salinas to engage in sexual acts with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl, sheriff's officials said.

He allegedly arranged to meet with the girl at a Salinas business and then go to a nearby hotel. He also agreed to give the girl marijuana before any sexual encounters, sheriff's officials said.

Around 1:50 a.m. Thursday, Trakov arrived at the agreed location, 1570 Constitution Blvd. in Salinas, where he was arrested by deputies without incident, according to the sheriff's office.
