Police Search For Suspect In Rape, Robbery Of Vacaville Woman

VACAVILLE (CBS SF) -- Vacaville police are searching for a man who robbed and raped a woman in her home Saturday night.

The suspect entered the woman's home in the 700 block of Leisure Town Road through an unlocked front door and demanded money, Sgt. Chris Polen said.

The suspect then pushed the woman to the ground, sexually assaulted her with a foreign object and raped her, Polen said. He took money from her purse and fled.

The victim, who is in her 50s, called police who arrived at 10:07 p.m., Polen said.

Police searched the area but did not locate the suspect, Polen said.

The suspect is described as a white man between 20 and 30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds, Polen said.

He had brown dreadlock-type hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a blue-green plaid long-sleeve shirt, cargo-style pants and a dark-colored beanie, Polen said.

The woman said the suspect was possibly a transient because of his unkempt appearance and lack of cleanliness, Polen said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Omir Torres at (707) 449-5200.
