Bay Area Starts To Sizzle; Hottest Day Of The Week

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - The weather was heating up in the Bay Area this Earth Day, as a high pressure system was sending temperatures near 90 degrees in some areas.

According to KPIX 5 meteorologist Lawrence Karnow, Monday could be the hottest day of the week, with San Francisco expected to reach about 80 degrees while Oakland and San Jose set to reach 80 and 85 degrees, respectively.

Temperatures will start to cool down by Wednesday with help from the sea breeze, especially along the coast and near the Bay, according to Karnow.

Low clouds and fog were expected to keep temperatures cooler until Friday.
