SF Man Arrested For Attacking Mom With Cake Cutter

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A 21-year-old man was arrested after allegedly attacking his mother with a cake cutter during a dispute in San Francisco's Sunnyside neighborhood on Monday evening, a police spokesman said.

The attack was reported at 5:17 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of Valdez Avenue, near Monterey Boulevard.

Investigators believe San Francisco resident Nathan Nounou got into an argument with his 51-year-old mother and then slashed her leg, arm and face with a cake cutter, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.

The victim ran out of the house and Nounou, a San Francisco resident, was arrested by police on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted homicide, Shyy said.

The victim declined medical treatment for her injuries, Shyy said.

Police have not released additional details about the attack.
