Man Dressed As Building Subcontractor Sought In San Jose Armed Robbery
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) - San Jose police were searching for a man who disguised himself as a building subcontractor and entered the back office of a shoe store where he robbed the manager at gunpoint last month, police said.
The suspect entered the DSW shoe store at 3530 Stevens Creek Blvd. in San Jose at about 7:18 p.m. on April 25, posing as a subcontractor in a yellow vest, hardhat and tool belt, police said.
The man walked right into the back office, asked to speak to the manager and then drew a handgun and demanded the victim open the store's safe.
The gunman then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and drove away in a white car believed to be a Toyota Prius.
The suspect is described as a white man, 30 to 50 years old with a medium build and gray hair.
Anyone with information about the suspect is urged contact Det. Rafael Varela of the police department's robbery unit at (408) 277-4166 or call Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-7867.
