(CBS NEWS) – With the combination of Stephen King and Steven Spielberg, CBS’s new summer drama “Under The Dome,” may have viewers trapped from the get-go.
Premiering on KPIX 5, June 24 at 10 p.m. ET and based on King’s novel of the same name, “Dome” is set in Chester’s Mill, a small New England town suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome.
If the plot of the drama — being produced by Spielberg’s Amblin Television — sounds familiar, look no further than the big-screen adaptation of your favorite television animated family. “The Simpsons Movie” featured a similar plotline when the town of Springfield was also mysteriously encased in a dome.
Something tells me this show will be drastically different than Bart’s version. Just a guess.
“Under The Dome” stars Alexander Koch, R. Keith Harris, Jeff Fahey (The Lawnmower Man, Lost) and “Twilight” star, Rachelle Lefevre.
