Concessionaire Files Lawsuit Against AT&T Park Workers Union
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – Centerplate Inc., the concessionaire at AT&T Park in San Francisco, has filed a lawsuit against the union of workers that is threatening to go on strike.
Among other things, the company is accusing UNITE HERE Local 2 of trying to prevent charity groups from fundraising at games, forcing the San Francisco Giants to sign paperwork that would essentially block non-profits from working concession stands at games.

The lawsuit comes after talks between the two sides fizzled last week.
"It's unfortunate that Local 2 has walked away from the negotiating table and taken these illegal actions that has caused Centerplate to file this lawsuit," said company spokesman Sam Singer.
Meanwhile, Local 2 spokesperson Nischit Hedge said she has yet to study the details of the suit, but calls it an unfortunate distraction.
"The only thing that's obvious is that the workers want to be taken very seriously," she said. "And it looks like they're not actually being taken seriously."
No new talks are scheduled between Centerplate and UNITE HERE Local 2.
Members of the union authorized a strike vote on May 13. The nearly 800 workers have been working without a contract for the last three years.
If the workers do walk out, the stadium concessions would be staffed by management and other employees.
