SAN JOSE (KCBS/BCN)—Police were investigating the deaths of three men in two separate shootings that happened in San Jose on Sunday night, authorities said.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m., two teenage male victims were shot on the sidewalk in East San Jose, in the area of Rhinehart Drive and Clogstone Court, police said.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the other died at a hospital a short time later, according to police.

The gunman was described as young Hispanic male riding a BMX bicycle.

Later, just after 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person shot on the 100 block of Hayes Avenue in San Jose, Officer Albert Morales said.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound, Morales said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the motive and circumstances of that shooting are unclear.

These three homicides bring the city’s murder count to 19 for the year.
