2 Stabbed In San Francisco's Mission District

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Two men were injured in a stabbing during a fight outside a pizza parlor in San Francisco's Mission District early Friday morning, a police spokesman said.

The stabbing was reported at 2:17 a.m. in the 500 block of Valencia Street near 17th Street.

The victims, both in their early 20s, said they were attacked by four or five suspects as they walked out of the pizza parlor, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

A witness said the victims and suspects began arguing inside the business and then went outside where a fight ensued, Esparza said.

One of the victims was stabbed in the torso while the other was stabbed in the left buttock, according to Esparza.

Friends of the victims tried to drive them to a hospital but got lost. Police found them at Eighth and Hooper streets and helped take them to San Francisco General Hospital, Esparza said.

The victim who was stabbed in the torso suffered injuries that are considered life-threatening while the other victim is expected to survive, Esparza said.

No detailed suspect descriptions were immediately available Friday morning, he said.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with "SFPD" in the message.
