Replacement For Convicted Santa Clara County Supervisor To Be Elected Tuesday
SAN JOSE (KCBS) - Voters in Santa Clara County will cast ballots Tuesday in the special election to replace former District 2 supervisor George Shirakawa.
Shirakawa was convicted in March of multiple felonies involving gambling and corruption. The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors subsequently scheduled the special election to replace him, for June 4.
Some early voting was permitted on Saturday.
Tuesday is Election Day in Santa Clara
The candidates, in ballot order, are Patricia Martinez-Roach, Cindy Chavez, Teresa Alvarado, Scott Hung Pham, Joseph La Jeunesse, and David S. Wall. Andre Abe Diaz is running as a write-in candidate.
