Giants' Posey Leads NL All-Star Vote Getters

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- As last year's National League Most Valuable Player, San Francisco Giants' catcher Buster Posey is leading all of the league in the first update of 2013 All-Star Game balloting.

Posey, with 1,275,956 total votes so far in Tuesday's tallying, led Yadier Molina of the St. Louis Cardinals for the catcher position by more than 300,000 ballots. Posey won the starting nod in 2012.

The Giants' third baseman Pablo Sandoval leads the New York Mets' David Wright, a six-time All-Star, at his position.

The rest of the Giants infielders - first baseman Brandon Belt, second baseman Marco Scutaro and shortstop Brandon Crawford - all rank second in the voting for their respective positions.

Balloting ends July 4th. The All-Star Game is July 16 in New York.
