SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — Three people were injured, one critically, in a shooting in San Francisco’s Mission District early Friday morning, police said.

The shooting was reported at 1:29 a.m. in the 3100 block of 16th Street.

A group of people were outside when a suspect approached and opened fire at them, according to police.

A 34-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to his upper body and abdomen and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for the injuries, which are considered life-threatening, police said.

A 22-year-old man was also shot in the lower leg while a third victim suffered a graze wound to the calf. Both victims are expected to survive, according to police.

The male suspect fled north toward 15th Street and had not been found as of this morning, police said.
