PGA Tour's Frys.com Open Moves To Napa In 2014

NAPA (CBS SF) -- The PGA Tour will return to the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa when the Frys.com Open plays there as the first event of the PGA Tour schedule in early October 2014. The tournament has options for similar dates in 2015 and 2016.

World Golf Hall of Fame Member Johnny Miller, one of the Silverado owners, invited the Fry's Electronics sponsored tournament to play at Silverado, which previously hosted fourteen PGA tournaments from 1968 through 1980.

"It will be great to host the season opening PGA Tour tournament on our recently renovated North Course," said Miller. "The Frys.com Open has earned increased stature as the first event on the reconfigured schedule, inclusion in the FedExCup and an invitation to The Masters for its Champion."

CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin will host the Frys.com Open for the fourth time the week of October 7-13, 2013. Jonas Blixt is Defending Champion.

The tournament, which began in 2006, previously played twice in Las Vegas, Nevada at the TPC Summerlin and in Scottsdale, Arizona at the Grayhawk Resort in 2007 through 2009.
