SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — San Francisco police were trying to identify a man who robbed a bank in the city’s Financial District on Wednesday afternoon.

A man entered the bank, located in the 200 block of California Street, around 2:15 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money, according to police.

He simulated that he had a gun under his clothing, police said.

The bank employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, who fled and has not been found, police said.

He was described as an Asian man in his 40s who is about 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs about 110 pounds and has black hair. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing glasses and a brown, checkered polo shirt, police spokeswoman Officer Tracy Turner said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
