Jan Wahl Movie Review: 'Red 2' & 'Girl Most Likely'

This week only one of my film picks is worth watching and it's "Red 2". You can get comfy in your seat and settle in for a fun, lightweight action comedy.

KCBS Entertainment Reporter Jan Wahl:

Jan Wahl Movie Review: Red 2 (PG-13) & Girl Most Likely (PG-13‎)

RED 2 (PG-13)

It's just like the original "Red" from 2010 (also with Bruce Willis). It's about CIA operatives who get pulled into action and features Helen Mirren and John Malkovich. Every time those two are on screen it is absolute cinematic gold. Anthony Hopkins is a show stealer too with his portrayal as a psychotic prisoner of science.

This film is quick and silly, but refuses to be reduced to a cartoon status. We call this popcorn fun, which is why I give it...

Three hats.

GIRL MOST LIKELY (PG-13‎)

But be warned, "Girl Most Likely" is something you'll want to avoid. Kristen Wiig is funny and has given good performances before, but not in this. Her character in the film is hollow, obnoxious and confused, but I'm not invested in following her journey.

How they've made a movie with Annette Bening as the mother and Matt Dylan as a sleazy guy fail is beyond me. It's just not worth seeing. Wait for the DVD and only if they pay you to see it.
