Cal's Lindsay Gottlieb Receives 2-Year Contract Extension

BERKELEY (CBS/AP) — California women's basketball coach Lindsay Gottlieb has received a two-year contract extension that takes her through the 2017-18 season after guiding the Golden Bears to the first Final Four appearance in program history.

The 35-year-old Gottlieb led Cal to the Final Four in her second season as head coach in Berkeley after returning to the school in spring 2011.

Gottlieb, the media's Pac-12 Coach of the Year and a 2013 Naismith National Coach of the Year finalist, has a 57-14 record in her first two seasons at Cal after returning to the school following a successful three-year stint at UC Santa Barbara. The Bears were 32-4 overall and 17-1 in the conference this past season, losing to runner-up Louisville 64-57 in the NCAA tournament semifinals.
