Daily Madden: What To Look For In NFL Preseason Week 2

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Football fans looking for more playing time for their favorite players might have to wait a bit more.

When it comes to week two of preseason games, the question is: what should football fans be looking for?

"More of the same," John Madden told the KCBS Morning Crew. "Usually week one and two are about the same, you don't play your veteran starters a long time. You play some of your other starters and then most of the game, at least the second half is young players. And then the third week, which will be next week, is when you play your team more and kind of analyze where you are as a team."

"Week one and two you're looking at individuals. You're analyzing individuals and seeing how they're doing, who's going to make the team, because you remember you do have to cut the squad down eventually from 90 players to 53," he added.

"So a lot of that happens in the preseason then by next week you want to start getting your team ready."
