Masked Gunman Robs Pleasanton McDonald's Restaurant

PLEASANTON (CBS SF) -- Police were searching for a masked gunman who robbed a McDonald's restaurant in Pleasanton via the drive-through window early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the suspect entered the McDonald's restaurant, located at 4833 Bernal Ave. at about 3 a.m.

He was wearing a white mask, white cloth gloves and armed with what appeared to be a small caliber revolver, police said.

According to police, the suspect forced three employees into an office and demanded money from a safe. After the employees opened the safe, the suspect ordered the employees into the freezer and told them not to exit the freezer for 30 minutes.

The suspect was described by the victims as a possibly Hispanic male, standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a medium build.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the safe and nobody was injured during the robbery, police said.
