Citizen Shoots 2 Armed Robbers In Oakland

OAKLAND (CBS SF) — Police were investigating an attempted armed robbery in which two suspects were shot and two suspects were detained in East Oakland on Wednesday afternoon.

About 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday in the 9300 block of Cherry Street four suspects attempted to rob a victim, police said.

According to police, an unknown citizen fired multiple shots at the suspects.

Two of the suspects were shot and were self-transported to a nearby hospital.

One suspect was in critical condition and one was in stable condition Thursday morning, police said.

According to police, two additional suspects were taken into custody in connection with the attempted armed robbery.

The shooting remained under investigation Thursday morning. Anyone with information was urged to contact Oakland police at (510) 238-3455.
