San Jose Man Sought After $1.5M In Drugs, Cash, Guns Found In Home Search

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) - The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office is searching for a San Jose man after seizing $1.5 million worth of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin along with guns and $825,000 in cash from an East San Jose home on Friday.

The confiscation of the drugs, firearms and money followed a two-year investigation by sheriff's detectives into a methamphetamine distribution organization based in San Jose, according to the office.

The detectives served a search warrant at about 1:55 p.m. Friday at the East San Jose residence, where they seized 29 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, four pounds of cocaine and one pound of heroin, deputies said.

The detectives also recovered $825,000 in currency, believed to have been derived from drug sales, and two loaded pistols—one of which had been reported stolen by its owner to the San Jose Police Department, deputies said.

Detectives identified the main suspect in the drug sales network as Jose Alonso Jimenez-Olmos, 22, of San Jose, who was not at home at the time detectives arrived, deputies said.

Investigators believe that the bust dismantled Jimenez-Olmos' drug distribution operation, according to the sheriff's office.

The drugs had a street value of about $1.5 million, and the total loss to the criminal enterprise, including the cash, was more than $2.3 million, according to deputies.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information about where Jimenez-Olmos may be to call the Special Operations Division at (408) 808-4401.
