Man Shot Dead In Front Yard of Antioch House

ANTIOCH (CBS SF) — A man was fatally shot in the front yard of a house in Antioch on Tuesday night, according to police.

About 8:05 p.m., police received 911 calls reporting shots fired in the 2200 block of Lopez Drive, near Mission Elementary School. 

Officers were en route to the area when they received reports of a person down. 

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a 27-year-old man with gunshot wounds down in the front yard of a residence. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he died a short time later, according to police.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

The homicide remains under investigation.
