Shooting Leaves 1 Dead In San Francisco Mission District

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — Police were investigating a homicide in San Francisco's Mission District early Monday morning, police said.

Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 21st and Bartlett around 4:30 a.m. according to San Francisco Police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy.

Officers located the shooting victim, who appeared to have walked about 200 feet before collapsing in the middle of the street, Shyy said.  A fire department dispatcher told KCBS that when firefighters arrived police were conducting CPR on the person who died at the scene.

Police have did not immediately have additional information. No arrests have been made.

Police said Bartlett Street, from 21st to 22nd Streets, would be closed for a few hours and that the City College of San Francisco Mission Campus would not be affected.
