SFPD Arrests Suspect In Richmond District Hit-And-Run

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)-- San Francisco police arrested the driver of a van that hit and seriously injured a bicyclist in the city's Richmond District early Tuesday morning on suspicion of hit-and-run.

Police said a white van sped off after hitting the cyclist on California Street and 8th Avenue at around 3:15 a.m.

A Police Department spokesman said the victim was treated at San Francisco General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The van driver, identified as 56-year-old Hilah Sulme, is being held on a felony hit-and-run charge.

According to police, alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash.
