SAN FRANCISCO (KBCW) - On November 15, San Francisco transforms into Gotham City when Batman arrives to save the city from The Riddler and The Penguin. Who knew San Francisco has a Bat-Signal?

The Bay Area chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation has planned out the day for 5 year-old Leukemia patient, Miles to put on the Dark Knight's cape and cowl and battle the forces of evil. Described as a "a sunny, positive little boy," Miles' is inspired by comic book characters and his wish to be his favorite superhero, Batman will come true.

The Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation has laid out an entire day of crimefighting:
After rescuing a damsel in distress from the cable car tracks in Nob Hill, and capturing the Riddler in the act of robbing a downtown vault, Batman will eat his lunch at the Burger Bar in San Francisco – directly above Union Square. While at Burger Bar, he will get a call on his batphone to go to the window – where he will look down and see a huge group of volunteers jumping up and down asking for Batman's help. Why?

Because the Penguin will be kidnapping a famous Gotham City mascot (San Francisco Giant's "Lou Seal")! The getaway car will be visible on Union Square (a convertible so that everyone can see what is happening), and the chase will be on!

After catching the Penguin, Batman will make his final stop at City Hall, where the Mayor and the Police Chief of Gotham City will thank him and give him the key to the city. We plan on having hundreds of volunteers and donors collected to cheer and thank our Batman!

Already, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has thousands of volunteers and participants to join-in to fulfill Mile's wish.

The Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, ages 2 ½ through 17, who live in Northern California (17 counties from Monterey to Oregon border). One of the largest of 61 Make-A-Wish chapters throughout the U.S., the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation was the 25th chapter to form in 1984 with J.D.'s wish to meet Kit the car from the television show "Knight Rider." More than 6,000 wishes later, the Greater Bay chapter still strives to grant a magical wish to every medically-eligible child in our territory.
