San Leandro Bank Robbed By Woman

SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) -- Investigators were trying to identify a woman who robbed a bank in San Leandro on Monday morning, police said.

At about 9 a.m. that day, police received a report that a woman with long dark hair and wearing sunglasses had robbed the Citibank branch at 1300 E. 14th St., at Estudillo Avenue.

Police said a witness reported that the woman—described as in her mid-20s, of unknown race, and standing about 5 feet 5 inches tall—entered the bank and demanded money from a teller.

According to police, the teller, fearing that the woman might be armed, cooperated and gave her an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect fled on foot before police arrived.

Investigators are reviewing forensic evidence and are urging anyone with information about the suspect to call San Leandro police at (510)

577-3230 or anonymously at (510) 577-3278.
