SAN JOSE (CBS SF) – Light-rail service has been restored after a Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light-rail vehicle struck a car in San Jose Friday morning, a VTA spokeswoman said.

The light-rail vehicle struck a car at North First Street and Skyport Drive just after 9 a.m., VTA spokeswoman Brandi Childress said.

The two passengers in the car were transported to a hospital.

Childress said she did not know the extent of their injuries.

No injuries were reported among the 20-plus passengers on the train.

A bus bridge was put in place for passengers traveling between the Civic Center and Karina stations after the collision.

Light-rail service was eventually restored just before 10:30 a.m.
