Muni Power Outage Causes Supervisor To Be Late For Transportation Meeting

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- The San Francisco Municipal Railway light rail system was facing major delays Tuesday morning as trains between the Van Ness and Civic Center stations lost power twice.

San Francisco Supervisor Scott Wiener, a frequent critic of Muni's on-time record and other issues related to the transit agency, was on one of the delayed Muni Metro trains, causing him to be late for a meeting - focusing on transportation issues..

Muni officials say delays began about 8:45 a.m.

The scene was eventually cleared by 9:35 a.m. but the trains that were held back were just starting to catch up.
