Slow Bay Area Obama Fundraiser Ticket Sales Force Price Cut

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) - President Barack Obama is headed to the Bay Area for another fundraising swing next week. According to KPIX 5, KCBS and Chronicle insider Phil Matier, donors have not been quick to open up their wallets.

The president is scheduled to hold a lunch at the San Francisco Jazz Center Monday. But as Matier reported Tuesday, the cheap seats that went for $1,000 have been slashed to $500.

A $15,000 ticket to a private reception with the president may also have been discounted to $10,000.

The Democratic National Committee has not commented on the price cut.

Next week's visit will be the president's ninth trip to the Bay Area over the past two and a half years.
