San Francisco Parolee Arrested After Chase In Stolen Van

PACIFICA (CBS SF) -- A San Francisco parolee was arrested in Pacifica on Monday after he allegedly led officers on a chase in a stolen vehicle, police said.

At around 9:30 a.m., officers spotted a Ford Aerostar van in the 200 block of Gateway Drive that had been reported stolen out of San Francisco on Thursday, according to Pacifica police.

The driver, who was later identified as Dennis Paolo, 45, of San Francisco, refused to pull over and sped off through the city without yielding to police officers or traffic signs, police said.

Paolo stopped the van in the 100 block of Lobos Street, where he and a female passenger got out of the vehicle and fled on foot, according to police.

Police K-9 "Janyk" was deployed to help search for the two suspects, and eventually Paolo was found hiding in a storage shed in the 100 block of Farallones Avenue, police said.

The passenger, who was identified as Kimberly Taylor, 36, of Daly City, was found hiding under a porch.

Paolo was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail for felony vehicle theft, evading with disregard for public safety, resisting arrest, and for an outstanding felony parole warrant, police said.

Taylor was cited for resisting arrest and released.
