Man Fatally Shot In Front Of Rodeo Home

RODEO (CBS SF) -- A 25-year-old man was found fatally shot in front of a home in Rodeo early Saturday morning, a Contra Costa County sheriff's deputy said.

At about 1 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a report of an argument where gunshots were heard in the area of the 1000 block of Viewpointe Boulevard, Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jimmy Lee said.

They found the 25-year-old man lying in the front yard with several gunshot wounds. He was not a resident of that home, Lee said. Deputies unsuccessfully performed CPR on the victim. He was pronounced dead by paramedics.

The victim was apparently sitting in a car with someone when they were approached by three people, one of whom shot the 25-year-old, Lee said. The other person was not seriously injured.

The victim's identity has not been released.
