2 Men Arrested For San Rafael Shooting

SAN RAFAEL (CBS SF) -- Two men were arrested Thursday in connection with an October shooting in San Rafael, police said.

Detectives identified two suspects in connection with the shooting that occurred on Oct. 22, leaving one man injured, San Rafael police said.

At about 11:25 p.m. on Oct. 22, a 29-year-old San Rafael man arrived at the San Rafael fire station on Castro Avenue saying that he had been shot, according to police.

He was treated by paramedics and then transported to Marin General Hospital, police said.

The victim underwent surgery for a gunshot wound to his torso and was released a few days later. The victim told investigators that he and some friends were listening to music on Pelican Way when a man whom he did not know approached him.

The man pulled out a handgun and shot him, police said.

At about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, San Rafael police served a search warrant at a residence on Knoll Lane in unincorporated Marin County near Mill Valley.

Cameron Weaver, 23, was stopped as he was driving away from his home. He was arrested and found to be carrying a loaded handgun, police said.

Weaver was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.

The second suspect, 23-year-old Ruben Torres, of San Rafael, is already in custody at Marin County Jail on a previous probation violation, police said.

Police said he was being rebooked on the attempted murder allegation.
