Tow Truck Hits Bicyclist In San Francisco SoMa

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF)— A bicyclist was hospitalized after being hit by a tow truck in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood Wednesday evening.

The collision happened at about 5 p.m. at Seventh and Folsom streets.

The 40-year-old female bicyclist was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, with unknown injuries, police spokesman Albie Esparza said.

Police blocked off Seventh Street between Folsom and Harrison streets and Folsom Street between Eighth and Sixth streets as they investigated. Muni routes and traffic were being impacted, Esparza said.

The silver bicycle remained in the street with a mangled front wheel, with the tow truck stopped nearby.
