Person Killed In 2-Alarm Walnut Creek House Fire

WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) — One person was killed in a 2-alarm fire in a Walnut Creek home Friday night, according to firefighters.

One resident of the home on Hilltop Crescent was reported to be trapped upstairs, Contra Costa County firefighters said.

There was heavy smoke and flames coming from the second floor at about 9:45 p.m. and a second alarm was requested, firefighters said. Half of the home was on fire.

The fire department said later that a victim was found dead inside.
