Summertime In Winter: Bay Area Weather Setting New Records

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) – As the Bay Area sees yet another day of record-breaking high temperatures, a look at average temperatures from summertime shows just how unusual this weather is.

The July average high for San Francisco is 67 degrees while the August average high is 68 degrees.

Thursday, the expected high for San Francisco is 70 degrees. So we could say it's hotter in January than in the summertime.

Thursday highs will soar into the mid 70s in the warmest inland spots. Highs at the coast will be in the upper 60s to low 70s with low to mid 70s elsewhere. Red Flag Warnings are up until 8 am.

On Friday the temps will begin to cool a little as a sea breeze returns. Higher humidity will also help to curb the fire danger.

We may see a few more patches of fog over the weekend with cooler but still above average temps.

It will remain dry and mild through the middle of next week.
