Elton John, Lady Gaga Up For GLAAD Media Awards

LOS ANGELES (CBS) -- The 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards gets underway in Los Angeles this spring and Elton John, Lady Gaga and the movie "Dallas Buyers Club" will be among the nominees for awards.

The New York and L.A.-based gay advocacy group promotes the image of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in music, movies, TV and journalism.

Elton John and Lady Gaga were nominated in the category of Best Music Artist, along with Gold Frapp, Tegan and Sara, and Vampire Weekends.

The Dallas Buyers club was nominated in the category of Outstanding Film, along with Blue is the Warmest Color, Kill You Darlings, Philomena, and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

GLAAD announced 93 nominees in the English-language categories on Thursday. To see all of the nominations on GLAAD's website: www.glaad.org/mediaawards/nominees.

The GLAAD Media Awards will be presented in Los Angeles on April 12, and New York on May 3.
