East Bay Student Arrested In Montana School Bomb Threats

HELENA, Mont. (CBS / AP) — Montana police said a 14-year-old from Dublin faces intimidation charges after three bomb threats were phoned into Helena schools this week.

Helena Police Chief Troy McGee says the boy was arrested Friday after the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security tracked him down.

He faces three counts of felony intimidation in Lewis and Clark County Youth Court.

Court records say the boy told investigators he collaborated on the threats with a 16-year-old Helena High student he met while gaming online.

Charging documents say Friday’s threat against all Helena schools led to the evacuation of 9,000 students and staff and the cancellation of classes.

A threat was made against the elementary schools on Wednesday and Capital High School on Monday.

No explosives were found.
